Barry, Tom; Wood, Beth (1978). Uranium on the Checkerboard: Crisis at Crownpoint, American Indian Journal. Some 22 companies are currently exploring for uranium in the Crownpoint, New Mexico area. Pompeo, Joe (1981). Here's a Four-day Week That Works, American School Board Journal. Stoughton, Charles R.; Grady, Beverly R. (1978). How Many Students Will Drop Out and Why?, North Central Association Quarterly. Describes studies of dropout rates in Arizona and New Mexico, considering sex, grade level, reason for withdrawing, student enrollment, school location, ethnicity, and school's membership in the North Central Association. Wilson, Alfred P.; Moon, Edward F. (1979). The Importance of Selected Categories of Employee Benefits to Public School Teachers, Journal of Collective Negotiations in the Public Sector. The authors examined the differences existing in selected categories of fringe benefits among 991 teachers from varied settings in New Mexico. Barry, Tom (1979). Navajos and National Nuclear Policy, Southwest Economy & Society. Smith, Martha L. (1981). Educational Policy Making and Women: A Look at a Region, High School Journal. A 1979 reputational survey, duplicating a 1977 study, sought to identify the most influential educational decision makers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas. Farmer, Stephen S. (1994). The Collaborative Career Adjustment Project (CCAP): A Model to Recruit and Retain Speech-Language Pathologists in Rural Communities, Rural Special Education Quarterly. Describes the Collaborative Career Adjustment Project, a program that allows licensed teachers in rural New Mexico to continue teaching while taking weekend, summer, or distance education courses to obtain a master's degree in speech-language pathology. Goldstein, Hal (1980). A Social Work Teaching-Learning Center, Journal of Education for Social Work. A social work teaching-learning center developed to provide more quality MSW-supervised field placements for New Mexico State University undergraduate social work students is described. Gonzales-Berry, Erlinda (1997). Las Maestras: Pioneers in Education, La Herencia del Norte: Our Past, Our Present, Our Future. Highlights from interviews with three Hispanic women who taught rural children in New Mexico over 60 years ago notes the recurring motifs of poverty, supportive families, obstructive political structures, social discrimination, and community vitality and support. Investigates how these women were able to cross the boundary that separated culturally proscribed women's space from the public domain. Martinez, Paul E. (1979). Serna v. Portales: The Plight of Bilingual Education Four Years Later, Journal of Ethnic Studies. A class action suit brought against a New Mexico school district claiming discrimination against Mexican Americans is reviewed.
