Description: The Hopi Tribe has completed the development of protocols for a Hopi long-term monitoring program for resources of traditional cultural value in the Grand Canyon (A Hopi Long-term Monitoring Program for Öngtupqa (The Grand Canyon), 2007).  These protocols were presented to and approved by the Technical Work Group of the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program on June 25, 2007.  In the 2008, the Hopi Tribe conducted its first official year of implementation of the monitoring protocols and this work has been conducted annually ever since.  This proposal anticipates the continued implementation of the Hopi monitoring protocols between 2014 through 2017.  The activities to be conducted between 2014 and 2017 listed are below.
• Hopi Monitoring ? Continue conducting annual resource monitoring trips.
• Legacy Data Entry – Examination of all available data sources concerning the state of resources in the Grand Canyon will continue.
• Standardized Surveys – The Standardized Surveys will be conducted following the protocols detailed in A Hopi Long-term Monitoring Program for Öngtupqa (The Grand Canyon), 2007).  The results of the surveys and supplementary interview information will be entered into the Hopi monitoring databases.
